Description

Got a Story to Tell? Get Writing!

Last year Jane led a series of creative writing sessions at Birnam Arts, which culminated in the launch in December of the book Tales of Birnam & Dunkeld. We're pleased to announce that Jane will be back to run more sessions this autumn.

Some sessions will be led by guest authors, including Morag Anderson, this year's Birnam Book Festival poet-in-residence.

You don't need to have any creative writing experience, only an interest in the landscape, wildlife, legends and tales from the area. Bring your memories, observations and imagination, and we'll take it from there.

This is a free funded workshop and includes a light lunch -  spaces must be booked in advance.

With thanks to PKAVS Community Health & Wellbeing Fund & The Gannochy Trust

About

Jane is Associate Artist (Writer) at Perth Theatre. You can read her most recent work at Open Book Unbound and in the 2022 edition of New Writing Scotland.

These sessions are supported by Autumn Voices, a Scotland-based organisation that seeks to celebrate creativity in later life.

Star Star Star Star Star

We had not planned to present a hybrid festival, however that changed when one of our main authors tested positive for Covid. I greatly appreciated how the team worked with us to pivot and present remotely in part, making full use of your enhanced video conferencing equipment. As a result, we were able to deliver quite complex events with several elements all showing on screen simultaneously. The audio-visual quality was excellent, and our audiences were delighted that these events could still go ahead, in spite of Covid. The author in question was really pleased that he could join us on screen and remarked that he had not been so well supported in this way at any other festival.
