Beatrix Potter™ Exhibition
Discover the life, work and lasting influence of Beatrix Potter in the heart of Highland Perthshire at Birnam Arts
Discover the life, work and lasting influence of Beatrix Potter in the heart of Highland Perthshire at Birnam Arts. Our permanent exhibition explores her deep connection to the local landscape, from childhood summers in the region to the natural world that inspired her writing, illustration and scientific curiosity.
Through original material, interpretive displays and carefully curated objects, visitors can trace how Perthshire shaped her imagination and creative development. The exhibition highlights her time in Birnam and Dunkeld, her fascination with nature, and the people and places that influenced some of her most iconic stories.
Alongside the exhibition, interactive elements help bring her world to life, creating an engaging experience for visitors of all ages.
Children’s Activity Book
Make your visit even more engaging with our interactive activity book, designed for younger explorers. Packed with clues, word puzzles, word searches and discovery challenges, it guides children around the Garden Trail in a playful, hands-on way.
Along the route, children can hunt for hidden details across the site — including spotting laundry knocked from Mrs Tiggy-Winkle’s basket — as they complete each challenge.
Once finished, they can claim a free sticker and special stamp at the end of the trail as a reward for their adventure.
