As well as delivering our renowned arts programme, Birnam Arts regularly opens the doors for venue hire and community use. It holds an Auditorium for larger gatherings, events and conferences; a gallery-lit Meeting Room, and two studios for visual and performing arts workshops.

BA is a bright and bold venue, full of natural light that sits amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland.  Centrally located in picturesque Perthshire, Birnam Arts is a creative, inspiring and different venue ideal for hosting any small to mid-sized event.

With over 20 years of experience in supporting bookings with groups such as The John Muir Trust, The Arts Society and The Niel Gow Festival you can relax, safe in the knowledge that our flexible and understanding team will be there to cater for your event.

We take pride in being a warm, welcoming and engaging platform and work efficiently to ensure your Conference, Seminar, AGM or Public Meeting takes place in the most inspiring of settings.

Our meeting spaces offer a variety of features to help you deliver the event you want. 

Auditorium

Our highly-versatile space is our home for live music, film, theatre, public meetings, conferences and private events. Fully equipped with super-fast WiFi, video conferencing, new projector, large drop-down screen, state of the art theatre lighting, speaker system, hearing loop and flexible seating arrangements.

Meeting Room

A flexible, gallery-lit space that suits a variety of activities and groups from meetings to training sessions. Located on Level 1, the Meeting Room is a highly versatile space ideally suited for small meetings and is close to multiple breakout areas for smaller group discussions.

Dance & Drama Studio

The Dance & Drama studio is an ideal space for performing arts and movement workshops, as well as meetings for small groups. This studio is in the original Birnam Institute building, and features a wall-mounted dance mirror, wooden floor and an abundance of natural light. It is also ideally suited as a breakout room for larger functions being held in the auditorium.

Visual Arts Studio

The Visual Arts Studio is a space to explore creative ideas and material experimentation as well as an additional breakout area for conferences and team building. If you are planning an event and your event would benefit from working in a stimulating environment or taking part in a creative activity, this is the ideal space. Great for work in a variety of mediums that benefit from sink access.

Accessibility

Parking

There are two dedicated accessible car park spaces directly in front of the venue. There is a gentle slope from street level up to the accessible entrance.

Entrance

Using the touch pad, enter via the large glass doors to the right of the main entrance.

Toilets

There are two Accessible Toilets within the venue, one on each level.

Ramps

There are ramps situated throughout the building to enable easy access from the Café to the Box Office and Shop, as well as on the first floor to go from the Gallery to the Meeting Room.

Lifts

There is a lift between the ground level and first floor.

Using the best of local ingredients and suppliers, our in-house catering team can provide breakfast upon arrival, mid-morning refreshments, a wide selection of lunch options, through to evening buffets. We look forward to speaking with you to understand your catering needs.

This is a lovely light and welcoming building with a cafe and library during the day and some really excellent concerts and shows of all genres mostly in the evening. It's an intimate space but with capacity for several hundred people and tends to be competitively priced. It relies on volunteer support and is an excellent community hub

Pop in to the Foyer Cafe for breakfast, grab a delicious coffee with a selection of our homemade baking or enjoy a light lunch whilst browsing on the free WiFi. Wander upstairs to view the latest of our monthly art exhibitions before visiting the world of Beatrix Potter, or the Gift Shop to purchase a special gift for your loved ones or yourself!
