Artist in Residence 2024 AIR
Birnam Arts now offers self-funded residencies for artists seeking time, space and focus within a quiet, light-filled, flexible workspace, ideal for research, experimentation and making.

Set within the village of Birnam, Highland Perthshire, on the edge of the River Tay and its surrounding woodlands, Birnam Arts is a place where contemporary creative practice sits in dialogue with landscape, community and culture. These new residencies in the Visual Arts Studio are self-directed and self-funded, allowing artists to shape their time according to the needs of their practice.

Self-funded residencies at Birnam Arts are well suited to artists at any stage of their career who value time for reflection and development, in an inspiring environment.

The studio can be booked for a few hours or days (up to a week) at a time.  Cost of hire is £23 per hour.

I have enjoyed taking part in events such as Scots Opera before we came to live in the area. Since then we have enjoyed both attending events and the splendid cafe In the foyer. It is a brilliant example of a local/regional community arts initiative and must not be allowed to falter.
