Billy Bremner and Me

BILLY BREMNER and ME

Written and performed by Phil Differ

A schoolboy’s dream.  To be a professional footballer, to play at the highest level, to represent his country and to usurp the crown of his school’s greatest hero: Leeds United and Scotland legend Billy Bremner.  The schoolboy was comedian Phil Differ and his dream came with a plan - to get into the school team, to impress with every game and to eclipse Bremner’s incredible career through his own spectacular achievements… only one thing stands in Phil’s way... himself!  Discover the fruits of Phil’s failure in this autobiographical one-man show.

“A show not to be missed!”

“Wonderful, funny, nostalgic.”

“Proof that men never grow up - not always a bad thing!”

“It’s his deft, understated delivery that’s winning”

“Happy to poke fun at himself”

I love Phil Differ, he’s the quiet genius of Scottish comedy’ Rory Bremner

A brilliant and very entertaining show which brought back many happy memories of when I taught at St Modan’s High School in the 1970s. I had the privilege of teaching Phil Differ and was there when former pupil Billy Bremner came to visit the school. This is a MUST-see show.”  Dennis Canavan, ex-MP/MSP and Phil’s former Maths teacher

Star Star Star Star Star

We had not planned to present a hybrid festival, however that changed when one of our main authors tested positive for Covid. I greatly appreciated how the team worked with us to pivot and present remotely in part, making full use of your enhanced video conferencing equipment. As a result, we were able to deliver quite complex events with several elements all showing on screen simultaneously. The audio-visual quality was excellent, and our audiences were delighted that these events could still go ahead, in spite of Covid. The author in question was really pleased that he could join us on screen and remarked that he had not been so well supported in this way at any other festival.
