Founded by local musicians in 1932, Dunkeld & District Strathspey and Reel Society celebrates Dunkeld's wonderful legacy of traditional and innovative fiddle music that stretches back to Niel Gow and others in the 18th century. With their musical director Pete Clark, the orchestra continues to meet during school term time and perform concerts of local, traditional music, usually concluding with some ceilidh dancing.
Join us for an evening of Highland Perthshire's finest fiddle music, performed by a dedicated orchestra of local musicians carrying on a tradition that stretches back nearly a century. Expect a first half of concert music showcasing the society's skill and repertoire, followed by an interval, before the orchestra strikes up for some lively ceilidh dancing — all instruments and all ages welcome to join in.
Come along for a warm, toe-tapping night out and experience Dunkeld's living musical heritage first hand.
