Lightning Ridge

14 February 2026

Lightning Ridge is a heartbreaking and beautiful story about the possibility of dreams, a community coming together, and the preciousness of hope.  When 12-year-old Ashmol's little sister Kellyanne gets sick, Ashmol realizes there's only one thing to do: He must find her lost imaginary friends,  Pobby and Dingan.  Set in the remote Australian Outback, this moving story explores love and loss, and the power of imagination at any age. Sometimes we have to believe in the impossible.

A Catherine Wheels show created by Gill Robertson, Shona Reppe, Daniel Padden and Rob Evans. Adapted from the book Pobby and Dingan by Ben Rice.

Winner of the CATS award for Best Performance for Young Children and Young People and Gill Robertson won the Outstanding Performance award.
