Make Your Own Textured Silver Ring with Kristina Merchant
Create your own one-of-a-kind sterling silver ring in this relaxed, beginner-friendly jewellery
workshop.
You’ll be introduced to traditional silversmithing techniques including forming, soldering,
hammering, texturing and finishing. Starting with silver wire, you’ll shape and work the
metal by hand to create an organic ring with its own individual marks, texture and
character.
The focus is on embracing the handmade process rather than creating something perfectly
uniform, so everyone will leave with a ring completely unique to them.
No previous jewellery making experience is needed and all materials and tools will be
provided.

Kristina Merchant is a contemporary jeweller based in Perth, Scotland. Working primarily
with silver, gold and amber her practice takes inspiration from everyday objects
transforming them through traditional jewellery making techniques into playful art
jewellery.
Her work celebrates the marks of making often allowing texture, imperfections and the
process itself to become part of the finished piece. Alongside her own practice, Kristina
teaches amber carving workshops, sharing traditional making skills in an accessible and
relaxed environment.
