Norrie Tago MacIver is a singer songwriter from the Isle of Lewis. Until November 2025 he was the lead singer of Skipinnish, one of Scotland’s most popular and dynamic folk bands, for nine years. Known for his powerful voice, melodic flair, and deep roots in Gaelic tradition, Norrie has brought his signature style to sold-out venues across the UK, including the Barrowlands and Edinburgh Castle, and his last gig with the band was the OVO Hydro in Glasgow. Since joining Skipinnish in 2016, he has released two critically acclaimed albums with the band: The Seventh Wave and Steer by the Stars.
In December 2011, Norrie was voted Gaelic Singer of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards, and in 2021 he won the Online Performance of the year. He has two solo albums under his name and also released an album of new songs with the Glasgow Barons called Songs of Govan Old.
Originally from Carloway on the Isle of Lewis and now based in Fife, Norrie is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Over the course of his career, he has toured extensively across North America, Europe, Australia, and South Korea, earning a reputation as one of Gaelic music’s most versatile and accomplished voices.
