Power Station: Free Pre-Season Film Screening

Part of Birnam & Dunkeld Film Society 26/27

Sun 30 Aug
19:30 - 21:00
Doors open 19:00

Dunkeld and Birnam Community Energy Group and Birnam & Dunkeld Film Society present a free pre-season screening of Power Station - an inspirational film about local people taking control of their energy future.

Power Station began in the depths of lockdown with the question "what could we do from where we live, with the people around us, to build power - of energy and imagination?"

It's is a scalable in-your-face prototype of community led power. The film charts the financial and emotional trials and tribulations of making change together.  From sleeping on rooftops to growing thousands of sunflowers and attempts at Christmas number one, community spirit and resilience are at the heart of this.

Come along and enjoy - and find out how you can get involved in community energy, as the Dunkeld and Birnam Community Energy Group gears up to deliver a programme of community engagement to create more community-led local energy projects and initiatives. It's also a great chance to find out more about Birnam & Dunkeld Film Society and sign up for their 2026/27 programme of screenings - details at birnamarts.com/festival-Birnam-amp-Dunkeld-Film-Society-26-27-id820.

This film is rated 12A. Under-12s are welcome along, but please make sure they're with an adult who can decide if it's right for them.

This is a lovely light and welcoming building with a cafe and library during the day and some really excellent concerts and shows of all genres mostly in the evening. It's an intimate space but with capacity for several hundred people and tends to be competitively priced. It relies on volunteer support and is an excellent community hub.
