Step into the wild world of McClelland's Sudden Death, where old friendships collide with the unexpected in a comedic whirlwind set in the heart of Scotland.
Scottish Comedian Rosco McClelland is a regular on BBC's Breaking the News - the topical comedy panel show which takes a satirical view of the week's headlines. Riding high on the current Scottish comedy revival, Rosco is one of its brightest stars with professional accolades to prove he is something special.
Join Rosco as he navigates highs and lows of life, death and a penchant for edibles, all while grappling with the ultimate game changer: a potentially fatal heart condition. With uproarious anecdotes and sharp wit, McClelland takes audiences on a rollercoaster ride through the highs and lows of day-to-day life, peppered with Scottish charm and unexpected twists.
Twice nominated Best Newcomer at the Scottish Comedy Awards and winner of the Scottish Comedian of the year in 2016, his endearing onstage presence has impressed judges and audiences alike.
Rosco was chosen as one of Chortle’s ‘Comedian’s to watch’ back in 2017 for his unique comedic voice. His offbeat musings and exaggerated visual imagery feel natural and he never fails to leave audiences wanting more.
With sold out shows at Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – Rosco brings his comedic brilliance to Birnam for the first time.
In 2024, he was shortlisted for the Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow award – a prestigious award which aims to celebrate the city and the famous warmth, resilience, and humour of Glasgow. Rosco had a hugely successful 2024 Edinburgh run with his show ‘Sudden Death’ exploring questions of life and death and his very open honest reveal that he is living with Long QT Syndrome. He received four stars from publications including The Scotsman and Chortle and was named one of the 12 must-see comedy Fringe shows in 2024 by The Rolling Stone.
Rosco regularly performs across the UK top clubs including Glee, The Stand, Blackpool Comedy Station, Monkey Barrel and many more.
