Come along to the opening of our brand-new Beatrix Potter™ Garden Trail!
The trail invites visitors to step into the natural world that sparked Potter's imagination, winding through the landscaped garden adjoining Birnam Arts. Along the way, you'll discover carved sculptures, storytelling features, carved benches, play elements, and hidden surprises that celebrate Potter's legacy and her enduring love for Perthshire.
On opening day, there will be fun activities for the whole family, including badge making, face painting, special tours, and a first chance to see our brand-new Activity Books. There will also be free ice cream for the first ten kids who arrive!
We are also delighted to welcome local soprano Colleen Nicoll, who will perform at 12:00 under the bandstand. She will read three of Potter's stories inspired by her time in Perthshire, accompanied by original songs. This is a world premiere of this material – definitely not to be missed.
This project has been made possible thanks to funding from the Scottish Government Place Based Investment Fund, Perth and Kinross Council Community Environment Challenge Fund, and the Ironmongers' Company. We are deeply grateful to the many partners and individuals who have contributed.
The trail has been designed by Brilliant Trails, in partnership with Penguin Ventures on behalf of Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd (an imprint of Penguin Random House Children's UK and owner of the Peter Rabbit™ brand).
This event is free and accessible to all. Meet us in the Garden from 10am - 2pm, drop in.
