With all band members hailing from Scotland, THE CARLOWAYS take their love for Americana and fuse it with a rock core to create tunes that are infectiously catchy.
Originally formed by a bunch of school friends, the group is not only very well known within their local music scene in Perth, but they’ve since made their mark by touring extensively all over Scotland, including multiple appearances at Belladrum Festival, Eden Court Inverness, Stornoway and as far south as Cornwall, 19 sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017… they even landed a touring gig with the SNP’s Alex Salmond after the SNP’s Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh heard them play at a fundraising gig while she was the MP for Ochil and South Perthshire.
In April 2018 the band recorded their debut E.P. with producer Paul McInally (Florence and The Machine, The Lapelles) at 45 A-Side Studios in Glasgow. This was released on July 1st 2018 and the track "Crawlin' Back" was used as Belladrum Festival's 2018 soundtrack.
The band have recorded their first ever album – watch out for tracks from that in tonight’s concert. This is a band to watch!
