This exhibition is Grigorios’ visual interpretation of a personal dialogue with Mother Earth, inspired by his daily walks and explorations of Birnam & Dunkeld.
The work interprets sensations felt by walking beneath majestic trees; the observation of shapes and textures seen on tree bark and stones; and the perpetual flow of water with its ancient memory that seeks to be awakened and shared with Humanity. The constantly reformed riverbank landscapes where the displacement of a twig or a pebble creates a new reality, reminding him of the transience of life. Nature provides Grigorios with a constant and endless source of inspiration for his arts practice.
‘Nature in all its manifestations is my medicine. It feeds my soul and calls me to heal myself as an antidote to the chaotic energies of our social challenges and multiple health and climate crises. Living within this beautiful landscape, immersed in forests, burns and rivers, I am reminded of the delicate balance that permeates life itself and the need to honour and protect this balance within and without.’
