Hannah Fisher (fiddle)
For more than a decade Hannah Fisher has been a prominent member of the Scottish indie/folk scene, both as an individual artist and band member. Her best known collaborative work sees her as permanent features touring, writing and recording with Scotland’s most influential bands and artists including Idlewild, King Creosote, Capercaillie, Mike McGoldrick, Karen Matheson, Duncan Chisholm and Dougie Maclean.
Marie Fielding (fiddle)
Marie Fielding is a Scottish musician, lecturer, composer and artist. Marie’s main teaching role is Trad Performance and Fiddle Lecturer at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. As well as contributing to many Workshops and Master Classes across the country, Marie is also a Trad Mentor for TRACS, valuing the need to be a role model for our new generation of musicians and beyond.
Composition has always been a passion of Marie’s, since she taught herself the fiddle age 11. With 4 tune book publications, many commissions and new tunes on the go, Marie’s influences come from the early development of fiddle dance tunes, to the present day, specifically, Gaelic song, bagpipe tunes, Shetland repertoire and of course, Irish. Her family tree shows links to Papa Stour in Shetland as well as County Mayo and Dungloe in Ireland.
Marie has self-produced 3 albums, the most recent, Spectrum, features her 5 string fiddle and hardanger fiddle. The title track won an award “In Tune With Nature”. Marie is a keen artist, all inspired by landscape and nature, using many mediums. The Niel Gow Festival offers a platform to many musicians and audiences, to come together and share our love of music, especially the tunes of the Gow family. Marie is looking forward to the challenge of creating a solo set, as well as contributing to workshops over the weekend and hosting her art stall.
Naomi Priestnall (fiddle)
Naomi Priestnall is an upcoming traditional fiddler from Ayrshire, who currently studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Naomi is an enthusiastic, charismatic performer who captures the essence of traditional music while infusing it with her own compellingly fresh sound.
A finalist in the 2023 Scottish Young Musician Competition, her distinctive style has been shaped by her musical background of both
classical and traditional, contributing to her a versatile and stylish approach to fiddling.
Naomi is one of two fiddlers in the four-piece band, Lussa, whose name comes from the Latin word for “light”. Their vibrant sound has delighted audiences across Scotland and abroad, and the band was short-listed for “Up & Coming Artist of the Year” at the 2025 Trad Music Awards following the release of their debut singles and music video for “Lussa Reels” and “McMillan’s".
Naomi also performs with innovative bagpiper Malin Lewis in their trio and appeared with them on BBC Radio 4’s Hogmanay Show in 2024."
