Drop In Workshop
Set within the Safety Mapping exhibition, artists Anna Kelso and Helen O’Brien will lead a workshop which seeks to ask participants ‘What does safety mean to you?’. Using both collage and mark making this workshop encourages visitors to explore and examine their feelings of safety as they consider the journeys through their day, or their life more generally. We welcome participants of all ages to contribute to this community project and through the actions of drawing, cutting and sticking we aim to provide a creative space for visitors to reflect on their physical and emotional feelings of safety within their lived experience.

The comfortable and aesthetically pleasing cafe seating attracted praise and provided ideal places for small groups to gather at the tables, enjoying excellent food and drinks! Visitors remarked upon your new signage, now so much easier to navigate to the various rooms within the venue.

Pop in to the Foyer Cafe for breakfast, grab a delicious coffee with a selection of our homemade baking or enjoy a light lunch whilst browsing on the free WiFi. Wander upstairs to view the latest of our monthly art exhibitions before visiting the world of Beatrix Potter, or the Gift Shop to purchase a special gift for your loved ones or yourself!
We’ve always enjoyed Birnam Arts and all it has to offer - lovely venue, library and classes and a great friendly cafe.

I have enjoyed taking part in events such as Scots Opera before we came to live in the area. Since then we have enjoyed both attending events and the splendid cafe In the foyer. It is a brilliant example of a local/regional community arts initiative and must not be allowed to falter.
