Oddbodies' bring their signature visual flair to this funny, heartbreaking and poignant classic tale in this tour-de-force of physical theatre.

Armed with only a drum, a guitar, a knife and a chair, the tragic trajectory of Lear’s demise is presented to you from the point of view of his long suffering and ever-loyal fool.

‘This production is about as far away from ‘trad and bad’ as you can get, and it’s brilliant…You do not want to miss’ *****BroadwayBaby

The bastard Edmund, haughty Goneril, poor deluded Gloucester, oily Oswald, sweet Cordelia, mad Tom – all the characters from this sad and sorry tale brought to glorious life before your very eyes.

Blindness, betrayal, delusion, deceit, love, loyalty, lust and greed –it’s all here in this fast paced, funny, poignant and ultimately heartbreaking production.

‘Paul Morel is no question, a fierce talent… . A hilarious and fantastic evening.’ *****BingeFringe

‘It’s hard to think of a more engaging introduction to Shakepeare’s narrative…’ ****FringeGuru

Star Star Star Star Star

We had not planned to present a hybrid festival, however that changed when one of our main authors tested positive for Covid. I greatly appreciated how the team worked with us to pivot and present remotely in part, making full use of your enhanced video conferencing equipment. As a result, we were able to deliver quite complex events with several elements all showing on screen simultaneously. The audio-visual quality was excellent, and our audiences were delighted that these events could still go ahead, in spite of Covid. The author in question was really pleased that he could join us on screen and remarked that he had not been so well supported in this way at any other festival.
