Colour, light, distance – what does our vision tell us about reality? We’ll learn about the diverse ways creatures ‘see’ and create our very own optical illusions and kaleidoscopes.
Guided by stories and our senses, we will explore and respond to the Birnam Arts environment, allowing our imagination to tune into the surroundings with an emphasis on sensory play and exploration. All sessions will involve a story and the creation of a multi-dimensional sense map. Where possible the majority of these sessions will take place outside, so please come prepared with warm clothing and a snack.
The sessions will be adapted to interests of participants encouraging a play-led approach: it will be most suitable for children aged 5-11 (younger children must attend with a parent/guardian).
All sessions involve a gentle start, children are invited to participate in ways that work for them and parents/guardians are welcome to stay in the session as long as they need to to ensure their child feels settled. If your child has access needs that you’d like to discuss please get in touch via hello@nickymay.co.uk
