Moteh Parrott is an Edinburgh-based alternative indie-folk artist whose sound bridges his Highland roots and African beginnings. Born in Cameroon to parents working in rainforest conservation, he was given the local name Mnkongmoteh—a heritage that threads through his music.

Blending Celtic-infused guitar and cello with lyrics centred on hope and healing, Moteh crafts songs often described as “a Highland wilderness, with all the sweeping colour and spirit that encompasses.”

Shortlisted for BBC Radio Scotland’s Singer-Songwriter of the Year Award, Moteh recently released his debut album, recorded at the renowned Chem19 studios with Paul Savage, producer for Mogwai, Arab Strap, King Creosote and many more.

Such lovely memories of coming to Birnam as a wee one, visiting the garden and the exhibition then exploring the woods that inspired Beatrix Potter.
